WILLS AND PROBATE

PROBATE

If you have been appointed as an executor by a member of your family or a friend in their Will you will need to apply for probate.

If a member of your family did not leave a Will and you are one of the individuals entitled to inherit from his/her estate you are entitled to apply for letters of administration.

Probate or Letters of Administration give legal authority to deal with the financial affairs of the deceased.

Both the executors and administrators are legally required to comply with strict legal requirements in safeguarding the deceased's properties, the rights of the potential beneficiaries and finally in distributing the estate.

Failure to comply with their legal obligations may render the Executors/Administrators PERSONALLY LIABLE TO THE GOVERNMENT AND LEGAL BENEFICIARIES OF THE ESTATE.

We at Manak Solicitors pride ourselves on being able to professionally and sympathetically guide our clients through all steps from taking instructions, ensuring you comply with your legal obligations, having the properties and household items valued, calculating any inheritance tax payable, arranging to pay any such tax, cashing all assets and investments, contacting the beneficiaries and distributing the estate in accordance with the terms of the Will or Rules of Intestacy.
